BAC 50 is a highly concentrated solution of benzalkonium chloride (50%), a quaternary ammonium compound widely used in the formulation of disinfectants, cleaning agents, algaecides, and timber preservation products. Known for its powerful biocidal and surfactant properties, BAC 50 is effective against bacteria, fungi, algae, and viruses, making it ideal for use across a range of industrial, commercial, and agricultural applications.

It is commonly used in the preparation of hard surface disinfectants, sanitising solutions, mould treatments, and wood preservatives.

Application Guidelines

Apply BAC 50 using a brush or spray. The product foams upon contact, providing visible evidence that the treated area is thoroughly covered.

BAC 50 should be applied at low pressure to reduce the risk of damage. It avoids the harsh effects of scouring, scrubbing, or high-pressure washing, making it suitable for delicate and sensitive surfaces.

  • Weather Conditions:
    BAC 50 should be applied on a dry day with little to no wind.
    There should be no rain expected for at least four hours after application to ensure proper bonding and effectiveness.
  • Temperature:
    Ensure the temperature is above 5°C during application. BAC 50 may not be effective at lower temperatures.
  • Surface Preparation:
    Ensure the surface to be treated is free from heavy dirt, debris, or standing water.

Expected Results

The full restoration process will take several weeks, with visible improvements occurring gradually as the product reacts with sunlight and rain.


BAC50 will gradually break down bacterial stains and return the surface to an improved, cleaner appearance. Keep in mind that this is a weather-driven process, and results may vary based on environmental factors.
